Sega is written and directed by debutant Anjana, an assistant of Gautham Vasudev Menon. The film has Tollywood actors Nani and Bindu Madhavi as the lead faces along with Karthik Kumar and Nithya Menon. The film is produced by Gautham Vasudev Menon in Tamil and by Ashok Vallabaneni in Telugu.

Cast: Nani,Nithya Menon,Karthik Kumar,Bindu Madhavi
Director: Anjana
Producer: Gautham Menon
Music Director: Joshua Sridhar
Release Date: 29 Jul 2011
Genre: Action – Romance

Story:

Karthik (Nani) and Vishnu (Karthik Kumar) are two friends. They both are from a poor background. The elder brotherof  Karthik,  Balaji (Muthukumar) takes a lot of care on his sibling .There is Revathy (Nithya Menon), who loves Karthik. Then Vishnu bumps into Vani (Bindhu Madhavi), a sex worker, and for him it's love at first sight. Their romance track, accompanied by the song Oka devatha is possibly among the best moments of the film. Mean while Kathik's father is a pimp in that area and he deals with drug dealers. Karthik  for freeing Vani, makes a deal with his father for a drug deal. Here starts their problems and how Karhik comes out of them is the story.

PERFORMANCES:
Nani has done well in the film, he has performed well in his limits. Bindu madhavi was also good in her role. Nithya has a small role and she too had done well along with Karthik  kumar.
The music of Joshua Sridhar is nice and three tracks of the film are nice. Background is also good.
Anjana's story is neither different nor her screenplay is path breaking.
Everything is extremely predictable that makes Sega an uninteresting . Director failed to build the romance and friendship bond which are vital for this subject for the audience to get emotionally attached with it. When Vishnu and Vani love faces a sad end, audience wouldn't feel the pain as the buildup is not good enough.

PLUS POINTS:
  • Music
  • Nani
  • Choreography
MINUS:
  • Story
  • screenplay
  • narration

The film is dragging a bit in the first half and film lacks the sega(heat) in it.

RATING:

FINAL WORD:  Overall, Sega tests your patience, which is not even worth your ticket. The film does not have any heat(Sega) in it.

From then starts the Rajni kanth- Salman type action scenes and Singham acquires all evidences against Jaykanth and tries to arrest him.

Performances: Ajay Devgn has done a good workout for this movie. This is his full fledged action movie after a long time. He has done very well in the movie.

Kajol Agarwal who is a south Indian actress is average, she looks good but she over acts in many scenes.
Prakash raj was all good, but in some of his scenes he has been made to look like a joker.
The script is weak and the comedy scenes are not at all good. The story is of a Tamil movie, the film was a hit in Tamil thanks to the superb acting of Suriya and Anushka shetty. But in Hindi Ajay has done well and he lacks support from other actors in the movie, even the music has not done any good for him and the movie.
Rohit shetty’s direction was good but the fight scenes were somewhat over realistic. Screen play was also good.

Plus points:
·        Ajay Devgn
·        Screen play

Minus:
·        Weak script
·        Action scenes
·        Music

OVERALL: The film is  average. The film is totally about  Ajay and  Ajay Devgn’s fans may like it. I'm his fan so liked it......

kanchana(telugu,tamil)movie review

Kanchana is the sequel of Muni movie starring choreographer Ragava Lawrence.

Film: Kanchana
Starring: Raghava Lawrence,Lakshmi      Rai,Sriman,Devan,Manobala,Babu Antony,Kovai Sarala,Devadarshini,Sarath Kumar and others
Director: Lawrence Raghavendra
Producer: Bellamkonda Suresh
Banner: Sri Sai Ganesh Productions
Music: Thaman

STORY:  Raghava (Lawrence) is a happy guy living with his brother (Sriman), sister-in-law (Mano Bala) and mother (Kovai Sarala). He has the weakness of being scared of darkness, evil stories and ghosts. On the other hand, Raghava’s younger sister-in-law (Lakshmi Rai), a model comes to his home and they fall for each other. One day he plays cricket in a burial ground and that time the stumps which were hit into the ground accidentally hits the dead body that was under the mud. Ragahva unknowingly carries away those stumps which have blood stains on them. With those stains ghosts come into his house and starts doing all scary things. Finally they settle in Raghava's body. From then on he behaves in a peculiar manner and when they comes to know that there are three ghosts in his body. One of it is Kanchana (Sarath Kumar). All of a sudden, Raghava starts behaving like a woman wearing girl accessories and saris. Distressed with his behavior, his mother calls a Muslim peer Sahib in Dargah to see if he is possessed by any evil spirit? What does the man do? How the evil spirits leave Raghava’s body and who is Kanchana forms the rest.

PERFORMANCES:  Lawrence as an actor was not so good even in his previous films and this film is not any different. He does have the acting skiills to perform the role he played in this film and better actor than him can have made the film still interesting. He dance was good was there was no change in his dance moves.Lakshmi Rai was limited to songs and has nothing much for performance. Sarath Kumar gave a powerful performance.  Kovai Sarala is loud and irritating and her role is routine as every time which was distracting.

Kanchana's basic plot is similar to that of Muni. Here the ghost changes from a mass leader to hijra. Lawrence tried to include sentiment into this horror drama through Kanchana's character. However he took too much time in character establishment. The movie is three hour long this irritates and tests the patience of the audience. The film should have been reduced in length.
Thaman sounds below average and we find no song noteworthy to recollect. The background score is loud at times. Cinematography is definitely a plus for the film.Technically Kanchana is a sound film.
Lawrence exhibited his skills as a director in parts. Some shots are really good. He should stop acting to become a good director

Plus Points:

- Cinematography
- Background score
- Sarath Kumar

Minus points:

- Lawrence performance
- Dragging screenplay
- Weak storyline

OVERALL:     It's an average film with some entertainment in parts, it may be appealing to some but not all..

NANNA( telugu,tamil )movie review

Nanna starsVikram and Anushka shetty in lead roles.

Film: Nanna
Starring: Vikram, Anushka Shetty, Amala Paul, Baby Sara,Karthik Kumar, Santhanam and others
Director: Vijay A L
Producer: Malla Vijaya Prasad
Banner: Wellfare Creations
Music: G V Prakash Kumar

STORY:  Krishna (Vikram) is a mentally disabled person who has a five year old daughter Vennela (Baby Sarah). He works in a chocolate factory near Ooty for his livelihood. His wife passes of after giving birth to the baby. So Krishnan takes care of her daughter. When Krishna joins her daughter in school, there Vennela's teacher who turn's out to be her mothers's sister want to take her away with her. She tells her father about this. One day Vennela’s granddad comes and takes her away from Krishna and tells that Krishna can’t bring her up on his own. Krishna's  father-in-law is rich and affluent wants the custody of his grand daughter as it would not be safe for her to live with a mentally challenged person. Krishnan with the help of his friends will be introduced to Anu (Anushka), who after knowing the entire case synopsis accepts to fight for Krishna in the court of law for bringing the father and daughter together. Will Krishna get the custody of his daughter back? How Vikram’s wife passes away? What is the dark past of Vikram? How he turned as a mentally challenged person forms the rest of the story......

Analysis:
This story is inspired from Sean Penn’s I Am Sam movie. But the story is brilliantly changed to the local nativity and sensibilities. Earlier Ajay Devgn did this movie in Hindi as Main Aisa Hi Hoon. But vikram has performed extraordinarily in the role and he has done his role superbly.
Vikram has never failed to reach the kind of expectation he had set amongst the audience. The audiences can surely feel the hard work of Vikram, as he gave his best to the role of Krishna.
Anushka has come out with her best ever performance as the lawyer. She once again proved that she is not an actress confined to only skin show. Sara as vennela is the show stealer as Vikram's daughter, the attachment between the father and daughter is shown very well and seems like a reality. Especially the court scene is well picturised which will make each and every one emotional.
Amala Paul plays the role of a teacher and had done reasonably well. Nassar, who played the cunning and clever public prosecutor, is extraordinary in his crucial role.

First half of the film is completely dedicated to develop the father-daughter bond. Every scene is cute and heart warming in the first half. The first half of the film is predictable and moves at a slow pace. The real twists and story is in the second half .Suddenly the pace picks up and the movie races ahead.
The comedy in this movie is absolutely situational
he film gets heavier as it reaches the climax and the best part of Nanna is definitely it. Last scene in the court touches you and leaves you with a lump in the throat. Most of the audience can’t help but cry in those heart touching scenes where the father and daughter just speak to each other through signs.

The ending of Nanna is brilliant too.  we walk out of the theatres with heavy hearts. Nanna is not for masala movie lovers.
G.V.Prakash's music is good and heart touching.

Plus Points:

- Vikram’s performance
- Anushka's performance
- Climax
- Background score

Minus points:

- Dragged a bit in the first hour

VERDICT:  The film is nice and its a feel good movie. The feel may get good response from the audience of both telugu and tamil. Its worth your money.
